EVIL DEAD Director Fede Alvarez to Helm Zombie Road-Trip Flick 16 STATES

Horror fans have been begging Fede Alvarez to spearhead sequels to 2013’s Evil Dead and/or 2016’s Don’t Breathe for years, but it looks like his next project will be 16 States, a new horror flick from Lionsgate. Deadline got the scoop, reporting:

“They are keeping plot tight, but think road trip during a zombie pandemic. Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee and Miri Yoon are producing with Zaftig Films’ Requa, Ficarra and Charlie Gogolak. Bad Hombre’s Alvarez, Shintaro Shimosawa and Rodolfo Sayagues are also producing.”

Obviously, this project is in its infancy, so anything can happen. Still, it’s heartening to see studios announcing new projects in the wake of the Coronavirus crisis (which essentially brought the entertainment industry to a stand-still). Stay tuned and check back often for additional details about 16 States as news emerges.
