Here at Dread Central we get a lot of mysterious things in the mail and then have to figure out what they relate to. Case in point: the arrival today of a flyer asking if we’re prepared for our future and whether we belong with Maggie. Read on for what we found out and to see the first 12 minutes of a new film.

Along with the flyer came a temporary tattoo and a website address: SoundOfMyVoiceMovie.com. It turns out Sound of My Voice is a psychological thriller directed by Zal Batmanglij that was co-written by Batmanglij and Brit Marling. Along with Marling, who portrays the aforementioned Maggie, the cast includes Christopher Denham, Nicole Vicius, and Avery Kristen Pohl.

Synopsis:
Peter (Christopher Denham) and Lorna (Nicole Vicius), a couple and documentary filmmaking team, infiltrate a mysterious group led by an enigmatic young woman named Maggie (Brit Marling). Intent on exposing her as a charlatan and freeing the followers from her grip, Peter and Lorna start to question their objective and each other as they unravel the secrets of Maggie’s underworld.

Check out the items we got in the mail below along with the flick’s trailer and the first 12 minutes. For more visit the official Sound of My Voice website and Facebook page, and look for it in theatres beginning on April 27th from Fox Searchlight (click here for dates and cities).
