We Are What We Eat has quite the story behind it. The 10-minute British zombie short was shot over two days in July 2011. Five makeup artists, six locations and 220 shots later, the filming was done. Oh, and the director is 16 years old.

Scheduled to have its official premiere at Seattle’s National Film Festival for Talented Youth during their late night horror show on April 27, We Are What We Eat was written and directed by Sam Toller. He helmed the ambitious shoot which oversaw a cast of about 30, with 27 of them in zombie makeup.

We Are What We Eat is an Audio Visual Headspace production. “Directing We Are What We Eat was an incredible experience,” said Toller. “The sheer volume of shooting 220 shots in two days and the overall scale… a few people were skeptical we could succeed, but we did. I’m really pleased the film is finding a global audience and can’t wait to make more!”

Now, even before its festival premiere, we’ve been given the chance to share We Are What We Eat with you for 10 days. From now until April 9, you can follow this link to the private online posting of We Are What We Eat and use the pass code: wearewhatweeat to view the film. Enjoy!
