RUMOR: Jordan Peele & Will Smith Universal Monster Movie In The Works

Evidently, Get Out and Us writer-director Jordan Peele is working on a new monster movie for Universal. And while we don’t know any specifics, we’re hearing via Full Cinema that Peele’s untitled film is looking to snag Will Smith (Bad Boys For Life, I Am Legend) as its lead.

Almost sounds too good to be true…

Again, this a just a rumor at this point in time. But all the same, are you excited to hear that Jordan Peele is (possibly) working on a Universal monster movie with Will Smith? Let us know what you think in the comments below or over on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!

Peele’s last flick was the doppelganger thriller Us which currently holds a killer 93% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads, “With Jordan Peele’s second inventive, ambitious horror film, we have seen how to beat the sophomore jinx, and it is Us.”

You can read Peele’s stellar screenplay right HERE.

It centers on a woman who returns with her family to the home where she grew up as a child. Haunted by a traumatic experience from the past, she grows increasingly concerned that something bad is going to happen. Her worst fears soon become a reality when four masked strangers descend upon the house, forcing the Wilsons into a fight for survival. When the masks come off, the family is horrified to learn that each attacker takes the appearance of one of them.

It stars Lupita Nyong’o as Adelaide Wilson/Red, Winston Duke as Gabriel “Gabe” Wilson/Abraham, Shahadi Wright Joseph as Zora Wilson/Umbrae, Evan Alex as Jason Wilson/Pluto, Elisabeth Moss as Kitty Tyler/Dahlia, Tim Heidecker as Josh Tyler/Tex, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.
