Thankfully, with all the craziness going on these days, it still looks like Marvel’s planned reboot of Blade starring Mahershala Ali is still on track. And speaking of which, today we have word (a rumor) that the reboot’s release date may have been revealed: October 7, 2022.
This update (rumor) comes to us from a dude named Charles Murphy over on Twitter. Murphy is the founder of Murphy’s Multiverse and the co-host of Murphy’s Law Podcast.
Now, again, this isn’t the world’s most reputable source, but the tweet did come may way via more than a few trusted sources so on my end I’m going to go ahead and say … we’ll see. But really, it doesn’t matter much at this point in time, one way or the other, as release dates are getting shuffled around like crazy. You know why.
Rated R for strong, pervasive vampire violence and gore, language, and brief sexuality, the original film sports a 55% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Though some may find the plot a bit lacking, Blade’s action is fierce, plentiful, and appropriately stylish for a comic book adaptation.
It centered on, you guessed it, Blade, a half-mortal, half-immortal out to avenge his mother’s death and rid the world of vampires. The modern-day technologically advanced vampires he is going after are in search of his special blood type needed to summon an evil god who plays a key role in their plan to execute the human race.
