Necropants: Icelandic Sorcerers Wore The Flesh of Dead Bodies… As Pants… To Get Rich

Did you know there is something in this world called Necropants? I didn’t until this morning. But yes, it turns out that during the Icelandic Age of Fire (1654 – 1690), alleged Icelandic sorcerers would wear the flesh of a dead friend’s body – to bring unlimited wealth.

Evidently, if I’m reading this right * checks notes * the skin would latch onto the wearer’s legs, with a little pocket at the, you know, scrotum where the sorcerer would put a stolen coin, and then find himself able to pull out as much wealth as he wanted.

Sounds like a solid plan to get rich quick.

The catch, of course, is that if you wore necropants that naturally meant you had formed a pact with the Devil and were damned to Hell. That is unless you can convince some other assh*le to take your dead skin dick pants (bad name).

Only one person has ever been accused of wearing necropants: an 18th-century man by the name Mensalder Jonsson. Mensalder amassed a massive fortune rapidly and it’s said the cash came from his dark magic skin pants (bad name). That said, it’s likely the legend of his necropants was started by jealous neighbors. Or, you know, Mensalder himself.

But all said and done, there is ONE known pair of necropants in the world, housed at the Museum of Icelandic Sorcery & Witchcraft in Holmavik, Iceland. Check out a pic below!
