It’s baseball time again, which means folks in the Windy City are going to need something to cheer them up and take their minds off of the fact that it’s baseball season again. The good news is Chicago Fear Fest is right around the corner, and tickets are on sale now!

We’ve got the details below on what looks to be a kick-ass weekend of films and special guests including a “Holliston” screening with Adam Green, Joe Lynch and Sarah Elbert; the Chicago premieres of REC 3, Juan of the Dead and Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies; and a load of other screenings of features and shorts, including Teddy, Dummy and the very near and dear to our hearts Paper Rock, Scissors, directed by our own Horror Chick, Heather Wixson. Chicago Fear Fest is Chicago’s largest indie horror film festival with two days of multi-theater film screenings to be held at the Muvico Theaters Rosemont 18 in Rosemont, Illinois, Chicago’s premiere movie-going experience. The lineup will include short films, feature films, celebrity guests, panel discussions and Q & A’s. Festival after-parties presented by FEARnet will be held at Bogart’s, a full service bar and grill located on the second floor of the Muvico Theaters Rosemont 18.

Filmmakers and stars of FEARnet’s “Holliston” will be among those to appear at Chicago Fear Fest. Described as “The Big Bang Theory” meets Evil Dead II, “Holliston” is set in Holliston, Massachusetts, and follows the lives of Adam (Adam Green) and Joe (Joe Lynch), two friends chasing the dream of becoming successful horror movie filmmakers while struggling to make ends meet in their post-college jobs at a Boston cable access station where they also host a late night movie program called “The Movie Crypt.” Episodes of “Holliston” will be screened at Chicago Fear Fest, including the pilot and an advance screening of an episode. Adam Green, Joe Lynch and Sarah Elbert will appear at the Chicago Film Fest.

Film screenings will include the uncut Hatchet II and a Q & A with director Adam Green and producer Sarah Elbert hosted by filmmaker Joe Lynch; the Chicago premiere of the latest entry in the hit Spanish zombie saga [REC] 3 (in 35mm), the Cuban-based zombie epic Juan of the Dead, the Confederate War zombie melee Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies and dozens of horror features and short films from the hottest indie film makers.

Chicago Fear Fest is presented by Chicago-based Horror Enterprises Flashback Weekend (Horror Conventions & Drive-In Film Fests), Horror Society (web based horror news), Sinister Visions (horror website & graphic design), and Zombie Army Productions (Haunted House design & film production).
