PET SEMATARY & IT Producers’ Spooky Pictures Sets First Film, WATCHER

IT producer Roy Lee and Pet Sematary producer Steven Schneider are joining forces for a new indie production banner dubbed Spooky Pictures. The company has a multi-picture slate deal with Image Nation Abu Dhabi and has now set its first flick.

The debut film will be a psychological thriller Watcher, based on Zack Ford’s original Blood List spec script. Slut director Chloe Okun will helm the movie, which is planning to shoot this April.

Casting is now underway.

Image Nation’s chief content officer Ben Ross tells Deadline: “This production and our ongoing partnership signifies Image Nation’s continued journey into the international marketplace, and we are excited to create more dark genre titles with great potential for lucrative franchises.”

It is set in the midst of a city-wide panic over an active serial killer and follows a young woman who moves into a new apartment with her fiancé only to be tormented by the feeling that she is being stalked by an unseen watcher in an adjacent building.

Lee and Schneider produce along with Aaron Kaplan, Sean Perrone, Mason Novick, and John Finemore. Marc Bienstock, Derek Dauchy, and Stuart Manashil will executive produce.
