Writer-director John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place Part II with Emily Blunt & Cillian Murphy hits next month. And today we hear the sequel is on track to beat the first film’s $50.2M domestic opening and is tracking to open as high as $60M.
Deadline also reports that analysts are comparing its opening numbers to such movies as Us ($71.1M opening), Halloween ($76.2M), and IT: Chapter Two ($91M). Plus, A Quiet Place Part II is the only major studio wide release on its opening weekend.
Here’s the sequel’s synopsis: Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family (Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe) must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight survival in silence.
