ZOMBIELAND: DOUBLE TAP Writers Chat About the Franchise, Broadway, and Monster Trucks

To promote Zombieland: Double Tap – now on blu-ray and digital download, we sat down with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the creators and writers of the Zombieland franchise.

“We really wanted to tap into this idea of wish fulfillment,” Wernick told us. Seems appropriate, as we are at Monster Jam to take part in our own wish fulfillment. In the film, our scrappy heroes meet Albuquerque and Flagstaff, who drive around in a monster truck. Not very carbon-friendly, but in the zombie apocalypse, you have worse things to worry about than climate change.

Between interviews and lunch (which consisted of pizza, burgers, chicken tenders, and grilled cheese – the lunch of five-year-old champions) we got to ride on Gravedigger, one of the monster trucks. We were well strapped in, and they didn’t do any flips or jumps or anything, but it is still one of those amazing experiences few people get to partake in.

Check out our conversation with Wernick and Reese, and pick up Zombieland: Double Tap today!
