Before You See the Remake: Video Recaps Original GRUDGE Trilogy

Our own Ted Hentschke has seen The Grudge, arriving in many markets tonight in advance of a nationwide release tomorrow. He describes it as something in between a sequel and a reboot. It seemed like the perfect time to refamiliarize ourselves with the original Grudge Trilogy, which launched with a remake of the J-Horror classic in 2004.

Foundflix produces some of the best “Ending Explained” videos and retrospectives on the internet, and they recently released a recap of the original Grudge Trilogy, Give it a spin at the top of the article. You can check out the trailer and synopsis for The Grudge below.

Synopsis:
After a young mother murders her family in her own house, a single mother and detective tries to investigate and solve the case. Later, she discovers the house is cursed by a vengeful ghost that dooms those who enter it with a violent death.

The Grudge is directed by Nicolas Pesce and stars Andrea Riseborough, John Cho, and Lin Shaye. Look for it in theaters this Friday, January 3rd.
