Emmy Rossum to Mingle With Beautiful Creatures

There’s been quite a bit of casting news swirling around the Warner Bros. adaptation of Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl’s Beautiful Creatures series. Today we have word that the lovely and talented Emmy Rossum (Shameless) is the latest addition to the cast.

Rossum joins Jack O’Connell (Eden Lake), Alice Englert (In Fear), Viola Davis (The Help) and Emma Thompson (In the Name of the Father) in the supernatural thriller based on the young adult novels. She’ll star opposite Englert as rival witches and former friends who discover all sorts of dark and secret histories about the small Southern town they’re from.

Richard LaGravenese (P.S. I Love You) will direct and adapt the story, which is set to go before cameras next month in New Orleans. Distributor Alcon has already established what appears to be an appropriate release date for the horror lite production – expect it to hit theaters on February 1st, 2013. If this is anything like The Hunger Games expect a lot more updates on this sucker between now and then.
