Born on this day in 1978: Lauren German
Though German got her start in romantic dramas, she is best known for her roles in horror films. She auditioned for the lead in the 2003 remake of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre but that role went to Jessica Biel. German landed the role of the Hitchhiker.
In 2007, German was the Final Girl in Hostel II. Because she survived, she was made part of the Elite Hunting Club. She also starred in The Divide, a post-apocalyptic film directed by Xavier Gens.
On television, German starred in Lucifer as Detective Chloe Decker, an LAPD homicide detective who solves crimes with Lucifer after he gets tired of his job as King of Hell and takes up residence in Los Angeles.
