GARGOYLES Star Ready for Revival

One thousand years ago, superstition and the sword ruled. It was a time of darkness. It was a world of fear. It was the age of gargoyles. Stone by day, warriors by night, We were betrayed by the humans we had sworn to protect, frozen in stone by a magic spell for a thousand years. Now, here in Manhattan, the spell is broken, and we live again! We are defenders of the night!

We are Gargoyles!

With every episode of the hit ’90s animated series Gargoyles now streaming over at Disney+, it was only a matter of time before talks began about a possible revival. And today, Marina Sirtis – who voiced the villainous Demona – weighs in with her thoughts regarding a revival.

Fair enough!

Now for those of you out there that might not know, Gargoyles centered on a species of nocturnal creatures known as – you guessed it – gargoyles that turn to stone during the day. After spending a thousand years in an enchanted petrified state, the gargoyles are reawakened in modern-day New York City and take on roles as the city’s secret night-time protectors.

Gargoyles was a series produced by Disney and originally aired from October 24, 1994, to February 15, 1997. It spawned a video game and a spin-off comic series in 1995. Another comic book revival series picked up the show’s storyline in 2006 and ran until 2009.

The series featured the voice talents of Keith David (They Live, The Thing) as Goliath, Ed Asner as Hudson, Thom Adcox-Hernandez as Lexington, Jeff Bennett as Brooklyn, Bill Fagerbakke as Broadway, and Frank Welker as Bronx. Jonathan Frakes joined them as David Xanatos along with Brigitte Bako as Angela, Salli Richardson as Elisa Maza, and Marina Sirtis as Demona.

Every episode of Gargoyles is now streaming over at Disney+.
