New THE WALKING DEAD Spin-off Gets Official Title & New Trailer

AMC’s The Walking Dead is getting a bit bigger in 2020 when the network unleashes its second spin-off series, which we just learned will be called The Walking Dead: World Beyond.

Check out the new trailer below.

Personally I have been done with The Walking Dead ever since the second season of the flagship series gave master filmmaker Frank Darabont (of The Mist and The Shawshank Redemption fame) the big old boot. But who knows maybe even I will give this new spin-off a chance.

I guess we’ll see in 2020.

Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island) directs the pilot for The Walking Dead: World Beyond which will tell the tale of two young female protagonists who are part of the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse as we know it. Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond comes to us from co-creators Scott M. Gimple and showrunner Matt Negrete and stars Aliyah Royale, Alexa Mansour, Annet Mahendru, Nicolas Cantu, Hal Cumpston, and Nico Tortorella.

AMC Studios produces and distributes the new spin-off series which will boast a ten-episode first season. The Walking Dead: World Beyond is expected to premiere on AMC in Spring 2020.
