GREMLINS 4DX Re-Release Coming Next Month

The Howling and Piranha director Joe Dante’s Christmas creature feature Gremlins starring Zach Galligan and Phoebe Cates is one of my favorite movies from childhood.

The film is celebrating its 35th Anniversary this year, and today we’re hearing that Regal will be re-releasing the classic next month in 4DX from December 6th through December 11th.

What is 4DX, you might ask. Well, 4DX is described as a revolutionary cinematic experience that stimulates all five senses and includes high-tech motion seats and special effects including wind, fog, lightning, bubbles, water, rain and scents.

Head on over to RegalMovies.com to see if the event is playing in your neck of the woods.

The film begins when a gadget salesman looking for a special gift for his son, finds one at a store in Chinatown. The shopkeeper is reluctant to sell him the mogwai but sells it to him with the warning to never expose him to bright light, water, or to feed him after midnight. All of this happens and the result is a gang of gremlins that decide to tear up the town on Christmas Eve.

Gremlins was directed by Joe Dante (The Howling) from a screenplay by Chris Columbus (The Goonies). Michael Finnell produced and the film starred Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Hoyt Axton, Polly Holliday, and Frances Lee McCain. Warner Bros. released the Christmas creature classic into theaters back on the same day as the original Ghostbusters, June 8, 1984.
