John Carpenter Has Some Halloween Movie Recommendations for You

Beyond Fest Halloween Discussion w/ John Carpenter & Jamie Lee Curtis

If you’re a horror fan, chances are you’ll be watching John Carpenter’s seminal slasher classic Halloween on October 31st. But what are “The Master of Horror’s” favorite seasonal creepers? Our friends at EW asked Carpenter for some recommendations and they got a couple: 1957’s The Curse of Frankenstein and 1958’s Horror of Dracula, (a.k.a. Dracula), both starring horror legends Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.

“[They’re] both Hammer films, and they’re both really fun. They were groundbreaking at the time, they were also extremely violent at the time.”

What do you think of John Carpenter’s Halloween viewing recommendations? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram! You can also carry on the convo with me personally on Twitter @josh_millican.
