4th Annual NIGHTMARES FILM FESTIVAL Returns to Ohio in October

Next month, Nightmares Film Festival returns to Gateway Film Center in Columbus, Ohio for its fourth year. The festival will run from Wednesday, October 24th through Sunday, October 27th and this year’s lineup is comprised of 24 features and over 150 horror, thriller, midnight, and horror-comedy shorts. The programming roster includes, but is not limited to new efforts from the likes of Fangoria, Hammer, IFC Midnight, and SpectreVision.

Opening night kicks off with screenings of IFC Midnight’s Swallow and Rodman Flender’s Eat, Brains, Love (based on the novel by the same name). The next day boasts showings of Some Kind of Hate director Adam Egypt Mortimer’s Daniel Isn’t Real, the C.M. Punk-starrer The Girl on the Third Floor, Joe Begos’ V.F.W., and a midnight repertory screening of Jorg Buttgereit’s infamous cult classic Nekromantik. The rest of the weekend also holds screenings of Veronika Franz & Severin Fiala’s The Lodge, the Carpenter Brut-scored Blood Machines, and He Never Died sequel She Never Died, as well as numerous the following other indie efforts…

“We are so honored the world’s best genre creators trust us to present their work,” said co-founder and programmer Jason Tostevin. “This year, we have assembled more ‘better horror’ for our Nightmares audience than ever before.”

What is Nightmares Film Festival? It’s not only Ohio’s premier horror film festival, but has also been described as one of the best such fests in the world. More than anything, however, it is a wonderful, welcoming home for fans of independent horror and genre cinema. After all, the only thing better than being about to watch horror movies at a festival all weekend is the ability to watch them with people who love the genre and talking it up as much as you do!

Are you planning on attending NFF 2019? If so, I suggest you move fast on grabbing a VIP pass, as they’re almost gone! Regular tickets will, of course, go on sale as we draw closer to the event, but trust me when I say VIP is the way to go.
