Monday’s are never easy, but today will be especially rough for horror fans. Several weeks back, it was announced that iconic actor Sid Haig had been hospitalized following an accident. Best known by most of today’s horror fans as the “Bozo Jesus” Captain Spaulding in Rob Zombie’s Devil’s Rejects movies, his film career began in the 1960s. What makes today’s news especially sad is that one of his final films, Three From Hell, just premiered in select theaters last week.

Suzie Haig released the following statement:

On Saturday, September 21, 2019, my light, my heart, my true love, my King, the other half of my soul, Sidney, passed from this realm on to the next. He has returned to the Universe, a shining star in her heavens. He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be. He adored his family, his friends and his fans. This came as a shock to all of us.

All of us here at Dread Central send our sincerest condolences to Haig’s family, friends, and fans. He’s one in a million, a fan favorite known for being a fantastic actor and an even more incredible human being. We’ll never forget him.
