Rest in Peace: Sid Haig Has Passed Away

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we report the passing of Sid Haig, who died at 80 years old. The news was made public via his Instagram account by his wife Suzie.

On Saturday, September 21, 2019, my light, my heart, my true love, my King, the other half of my soul, Sidney, passed from this realm on to the next. He has returned to the Universe, a shining star in her heavens. He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be. He adored his family, his friends and his fans. This came as a shock to all of us.

We, as a family, are asking that our privacy and time to mourn be respected.

Haig began acting in the early ’60s, mostly doing bit parts in various TV shows. It was in the ’70s when he began taking on more film roles. The ’90s saw Haig take a step back from acting, taking on only a handful of roles before his resurgence in the early 2000’s when he appeared in Rob Zombie’s House of 1,000 Corpses as Captain Spaulding, embodying a new horror icon. This saw him enter a new era of appreciation, specifically within the horror community where most of his new roles took place.

Haig was recently in an accident that saw him having to enter the ICU, where he spent the past several weeks.

We send our deepest condolences to Haig, his family, his friends, and his legions of fans around the world. After nearly 60 years of acting, it’s time to rest.
