Fantastic Fest 2019 Exclusive: BLOOD MACHINES Trailer Bleeds Synth Dystopian Goodness

A film that we’re incredibly excited to check out at this year’s Fantastic Fest is Blood Machines, the sequel to Carpenter Brut‘s music video “Turbo Killer“. A sci-fi journey blended with elements of horror and the supernatural, the movie has already been acquired by the horror streaming service Shudder to be released in English and German-speaking territories.

Today, we’re here to bring you an exclusive trailer, which you can watch above. Fueled by cosmic pads and pushed into overdrive by a gorgeous color palette, Blood Machines looks like all the sci-fi movies I loved as a child but made for the adult me that I’ve become. This isn’t nostalgia, this is the future.

Two space hunters are tracking down a machine trying to free itself. After taking it down, they witness a mystical phenomenon: the ghost of a young woman pulls itself out of the machine, as if the spaceship had a soul. Trying to understand the nature of this entity, they start chasing the woman through space…

Directed by Seth Ickerman, Blood Machines stars Anders Heinrichsen, Elisa Lasowski, Christian Erickson, and Natasha Cashman.
