Sundance is Far Out
Sometimes, it’s nice to get a little validation … Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy. Just this past March, we told you how amazing Phil Mucci’s sophomore short “Far Out” (review) was. Well, it seems The Sundance Channel agrees. Just recently, the man himself dropped us a line to let us know that he’s inked a deal with them to run “Far Out” as the opening act for Jess Franco’s iconic Vampyros Lesbos, beginning in April of 2008. Very happening, baby.
If you don’t want to wait that long to get a look this sexy short, you can stop by Fantastic Fest in Austin at the end of the month. “Far Out” will be screening on Sunday, September 23 at 11:55 pm, and Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 9:30 pm. Phil will be in attendance at both screenings.
Those of you who can’t get to Fantastic Fest but would still like to sample some of Phil’s wares (and who wouldn’t?), don’t fret! The Hive’s first fabulous short, “The Listening Dead”, will be coming right here to Dread next month! Our own Sean “The Butcher” Smithson has nabbed that little beauty for the next episode of Nightmare Alley – the lucky devil. So, stay tuned for some of the Hive’s sweet honey! Until then, you might want to catch up on the first killer episode in our Broadband section!
