Elias Koteas joins The Haunting in ConnecticutGhosts are always good fodder for getting those who are on the cusp of being horror fans into theaters, and setting a film in Connecticut only helps, since most people find that state to be so harmless. I just wish Gold Circle would get a less generic title…

The Hollywood Reporter had the announcement today that Elias Koteas (pictured, Zodiac, Skinwalkers), Martin Donovan (The Sentinel) and Kyle Gallner (Sublime) have all signed on to star alongside Virginia Madsen in The Haunting in Connecticut, which we’ve not heard a peep from since it was announced (“Madsen Haunts Connecticut”).

The story will see Gallner playing the role of Madsen’s son Matt who is dying of cancer. He becomes aware of an evil presence in his new home thanks to his closeness with death, and Koteas comes in as a priest and fellow cancer patient who they turn to for help.

Peter Cornwell is in the director’s chair, working form a script by Adam Simon and Tim Metcalfe (the duo behind Bones, among other solo projects). Shooting rolls this week in Winipeg.
