IT (1990) Gets the “Honest Trailer” Treatment

The folks a Screen Junkies have amassed legions of followers for their snarky yet spot-on assessments of today’s biggest genre offerings in the form of “Honest Trailers”. The irony of “Honest Trailers” is that they arrive too late to give us a truly objective look at the films we spend our hard-earned dollars on… but it’s all in good fun.

Their latest victim, er, subject is 1990’s IT. Now that IT: Chapter Two has floated into theaters nationwide, it’s a great time to look back on its predecessor with fresh eyes. Tim Curry’s epic portrayal of Pennywise aside, is IT 1990 really the classic many of us remember or–does it actually kind of suck? Give the “Honest Trailer” for IT a spin at the top of the article.

Synopsis:
Defeated by members of the Losers’ Club, the evil clown Pennywise returns 27 years later to terrorize the town of Derry, Maine, once again. Now adults, the childhood friends have long since gone their separate ways. But when people start disappearing, Mike Hanlon calls the others home for one final stand. Damaged by scars from the past, the united Losers must conquer their deepest fears to destroy the shape-shifting Pennywise — now more powerful than ever.
