GRETEL & HANSEL Teaser Trailer Oozes Folklore Horror

The first teaser trailer for Orion Pictures’ Gretel & Hansel has been released and, readers, it’s a doozy. The film comes from Oz Perkins, the director of The Blackcoat’s Daughter and I Am the Pretty Thing That Lives in the House, and it’s positively dripping with unsettling folklore imagery and atmosphere. It’s almost as if The VVItch hung out with Tim Burton’s Sleepy Hollow with a dash of The Wizard of Oz thrown into the mix. Jarring, unsettling, and definitely spooky, 2020 is looking to start off strong!

Written by Rob Hayes and directed by Oz Perkins, Gretel & Hansel stars Sophia Lillis, Sammy Leakey, Jessica De Gouw, and Charles Babalola, and Alice Krige.
The film comes to theaters on January 31, 2020.
