Exclusive Trailer & Images from Sci-fi Thriller Short PATINA

For those afraid of letting new technologies like Alexa into their homes, actor/filmmaker Alan Maxson’s minifilm Patina takes those fears to the extreme. In ironic fashion, Patina explores the potential drawbacks of letting human-size robotic servants into your abode. Dread Central is pleased to exclusively unveil the Patina trailer and also share with you some exclusive pics.

“This short film is meant to be in the style of The Twilight Zone and Tales from the Darkside with a modern twist,” says writer/director Maxson, who also moonlights as a motion-capture actor and played one of King Ghidorah’s heads in Godzilla: King of the Monsters. “Currently, almost every home has some type of ‘robot’ taking commands and ‘performing tasks,’ whether it be your phone or home devices. It’s only a matter of time before our machines start taking liberties with what we ask from them. I worked with an extremely talented cast and crew on this project, and we can’t wait for you all to see Patina!”

Patina has already started making the festival rounds. The movie will play at the Silver State Film Festival in Las Vegas on September 5th. Tickets for that event can be purchased HERE. Patina is anticipated to hit many more fests over the next 12 months, so follow the movie on social media for updates HERE and HERE. For more on Maxson and his work, go HERE.
