With the recent success of such TV series as “The Walking Dead” and “American Horror Story”, it’s no surprise the bigger networks are ordering supernatural and/or genre themed pilots for the upcoming fall season left and right. The latest to join the fray is ABC, which has given the green light to “666 Park Avenue” from writer David Wilcox (“Fringe”), Warner Bros. TV, and Alloy Entertainment.
Per Deadline, Wilcox is executive producing “666 Park Avenue” with Leslie Morgenstein and Gina Girolamo. He most recently served as a co-executive producer on Fox’s “Fringe” and previously held the same position on ABC’s “Life on Mars” and NBC’s “Law & Order”.
Based on Alloy’s book series by Gabriella Pierce, the show is set up at an historic apartment buildings in New York City and centers on a young couple who become its managers. They unwittingly begin to experience supernatural occurrences, which complicate and endanger the lives of everyone in the residence.
Sounds a bit like the British TV series “Bedlam” with some “American Horror Story” mixed in. We’ll keep our eyes on things and see how they shake out.
