As if being the owners of the Taj Mahal (the real one, not the Donald Trump version) weren’t enough to be proud of for the people of India, they will soon have their very own version of Dracula, being produced in the Malayalam language, to enjoy. And of course it’s in stunning 3D!

And we’re not just talking about broke-ass red and blue glasses 3D here. The film, entitled Again Dracula, will be made in the latest IMAX 3D fusion technology, Avatar style, with a budget of Rs.10 crores (from what I can come up with, that’s about $2 million US).

We’ve got a shot of the film’s star, Sudheer, below and a teaser trailer. Looks like they’re going more “Dark Shadows” and less Twilight. Other cast members include South Indian actress Anushka Shetty, Meghna Raj and Thilakan. Dracula Again is directed by Vinayan for Akash Films.

From the Press Release
In the Malayalam Dracula, the spirit of Dracula enters into the body of a forensic surgeon who is working in Kerala. Then the rest of the movie shows the terror he creates. The film is produced by Preman Pothen and Sanjeev Menon. Cinematography is done by Antonio Rui Riverio and sound recording by Rasul Pookutty. The Malayalam version of Dracula will be having both Indian and foreign artists in the cast and crew.
