Blumhouse Confirms 2020 Release For HALLOWEEN 2!
Great news for those who loved last year’s Halloween (including yours truly) as Blumhouse is gearing up for a sequel that will be released on October 16, 2020, according to Collider. The site also confirms that Jamie Lee Curtis will be reprising her role as Laurie Strode and that Judy Greer and Andi Matichak are in talks to appear as well. David Gordon Green, who co-wrote and directed last year’s film, has written the script for the sequel and is also expected to return to the director’s chair.
The site also confirms that Malek Akkad will be producing alongside Jason Blum and Bill Block while Danny McBride, John Carpenter, David Gordon Green, and Couper Samuelson will executive produce, along with more that will be announced in the coming months.
Now, it should be noted that no one from Blumhouse has officially commented on this, so everything should be taken with a grain of salt. Still, with a movie that was so successful, the question of a sequel is more if a “when” and not “if”. Fingers crossed all of this goes through!
Halloween released October 19, 2018 and went on to gross over $255 million globally, making it the highest-grossing slasher in unadjusted dollars, a feat that few saw coming but many welcomed with open arms!
