DEEP MURDER Screening Recap

Dread Central’s Deep Murder screening at the Brooklyn Alamo Drafthouse gave a full-house audience exactly what they wanted: a night of crude jokes and bloody gags. See below for a few exclusive pics (taken by attendee Michael DiServio).

After the screening of both the feature and local filmmaker’s Mike Dimitroulakos’ clever short Jack and the Box, Deep Murder co-writer and star Quinn Beswick (left in photo with your host) gave the crowd the 411 on the Nick Corirossi-directed raunchfest about slasher killings in a porno world. For example, the movie lensed in a real Bel Air mansion that had been used for actual skin flick shoots! Star Christopher (Quiz Show) McDonald asked that the script be rewritten to not give his sleazy character a redemptive arc, while early victim Jerry (Stand by Me) O’Connell, a last-minute replacement for an actor who bailed, enjoyed prancing around in his tiny undies. The film shot in just 15 days, with the crew making due on a steady diet of Chipotles lunches. Toughest kill to shoot? The steamy shower offing. Same scene featured a stunt-penis performer!

Synopsis:
Deep Murder is a genre-bending horror comedy that takes place inside the world of a softcore porn. It begins like any other porno, with a group of horny archetypes holed up in a poorly decorated house. But when they begin to be brutally murdered one by one, they’re forced to evolve from clichés into real people in order to catch the killer in their midst and survive the night.
