Brad Dourif is “Absolutely” Participating in Don Mancini’s CHILD’S PLAY TV Series

Sure, Orion’s Child’s Play reboot is slated to hit theaters in just three weeks, but the original franchise is still alive with Chucky mastermind Don Mancini helming a TV series eyeing a 2020 premiere. And while we’re all curious and excited to see (hear) Mark Hamill as the new voice of the iconic devil doll, there’s no topping OG Chucky actor, Brad Dourif.

Mancini and Dourif are the only constants in the evolving series launched in 1988, and we’re thrilled to be able to confirm that they will be ushering Chucky into the next decade together. Dourif recently confirmed that he’s on board for the TV series. Here’s what he told Bleeding Cool:

“Don Mancini‘s TV series is happening. It’s going to happen. Yes, yes absolutely. We’ve spoken more than once, and absolutely [I’m involved]. It’s his baby, he invented it, it came from him, he’s the real source. And he’s managed, on more than one occasion with a shift in the genre to really find an exciting and different way of doing it, and it’s always worked. I think it’s pretty good, and I don’t feel that way about most things. I mean with Chucky, we’re not talking about the deepest level of human nature or anything like that, but it’s great fun. And Don knows exactly the right tone, every time.”

We don’t have much concrete information about the Child’s Play TV series at this time, but we’ll be keeping our ears to the ground in order to bring you news as additional details are revealed. Stay tuned and check back often!
