MISFITS’ Michale Graves Joins Modern Horror’s GOD COUNTRY

The sense of pride and excitement we feel at Dread Central whenever we release one of our DREAD titles can’t be understated. It’s an event. It’s a big deal. It’s personal. It’s something we invested countless hours into and knowing that you, the target audience, get to see them is really incredible. That’s why I want to tell you about God Country, the debut feature film from our pals over at Modern Horrors.

The story is rooted in topics that many of us are all too familiar with: bullying, hatred, familial disappointment, trying to find one’s own place in the world, trying to fit in, and much more. Ben Marsh, a gay man, lives with his boyfriend after escaping small town homophobia. But when he’s forced out of the home he built for himself, he must return homeā€¦and to all the terrors it holds.

The Modern Horrors team is raising money via Seed and Spark to make the movie a reality. They’ve already raised over $25k, which sees them green-lit BUT every little extra bit will make the movie that much better.

Bringing the movie to life are Luke Rodriguez, who came up with the story (and is the founder of Modern Horrors) and is co-directing with writer/co-director Jake Parker, DP Tyler Oaks, and AD Aubrey Beiser. Starring in the film are James David West, Stevie Cook, and Michale Graves, who was the singer during the ’95-’00 re-incarnation of the Misfits.

A young man, with a traumatic upbringing, is forced home by a family tragedy only to find himself embattled with local religious extremists.
