Rest in Peace: TWIN PEAKS’ Peggy Lipton Has Passed Away

Readers, my heart is absolutely broken right now. It’s been confirmed by LA Times that actress/model Peggy Lipton has passed away at the age of 72. Her death was confirmed by Kidada and Rashida Jones, her daughters from her marriage to Quincy Jones.

“We can’t put all of our feelings into words right now, but we will say: Peggy was and will always be our beacon of light, both in this world and beyond,” her daughters said in a statement Saturday. “She will always be a part of us.”

Lipton starred in several movies and TV shows but she was most known for her role in Twin Peaks as Norma Jennings, the owner of the Double R Diner. Famed for their wonderful coffee and her cherry pie recipe, a combination that’ll kill ya. Her warm, motherly attitude was always a source of comfort amidst the surreal bizarreness of Twin Peaks. Her loss is keenly felt as the show has been a part of my life since it first aired.

Rest in peace, Mrs. Lipton. I can’t thank you enough for the memories. I’ll raise my next slice of cherry pie to you.
