CHILD’S PLAY Stars Aubrey Plaza and Gabriel Bateman Pick Their Five Favorite Horror Movie Mothers

We’re about a month-and-a-half away from the release of the Child’s Play reboot. We’re also just a few days away from Mother’s Day, a day where people all over celebrate the relationship they have with their mom. Normally a joyous day, horror movies have easily found ways to turn the concept of a “loving mother” into something sinister and terrifying…precisely the kind of subversion the horror genre is known for offering!

To celebrate the upcoming holiday, Fandango got Child’s Play stars Aubrey Plaza and Gabriel Bateman to sit down and discuss their five favorite horror mothers. Obviously, you’ll see The Shining and Rosemary’s Baby in this list but are you able to guess the other three? Watch the video and see for yourself!

“A mother gives her son a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.”

Child’s Play is directed by Lars Klevberg from a screenplay penned by Tyler Burton Smith; in addition to Hamill, the film stars Aubrey Plaza, Tim Matheson, and Brian Tyree Henry. It’s a complete reboot (computer pun apropos) of 1988’s Child’s Play, directed by Tom Holland and written by Don Mancini.

The film comes out June 21. You can sing up for ticket alerts through Fandango.
