Dread Central to Host Free LA screening of THE PRODIGY May 10th with Director Nicholas McCarthy!
Dread Central will be hosting a free “last chance” screening of the killer child movie The Prodigy on Friday, May 10th at 7 pm at Hollywood’s swanky Arena Cinelounge Sunset (6464 Sunset Boulevard; 323-924-1644). Director Nicholas McCarthy (The Pact, Holidays, At the Devil’s Door) will intro the film and take part in a Q&A. LA Times’ Sonaiya Kelley called The Prodigy’s shock ending “a twist… audiences will not see coming.” Now you can see for yourselves!
This special event represents the last chance to see The Prodigy on the big screen for a terrifying theatrical experience you won’t soon forget. The movie, written by Pet Sematary’s Jeff Buhler, is now available on Digital, with the Blu-ray and DVD arriving May 7th from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. In her much-anticipated foray into the horror-thriller genre, Golden Globe and Emmy nominee Taylor Schilling (Orange Is the New Black) stars as Sarah, a mother whose young son Miles’ disturbing behavior signals that an evil, possibly supernatural force has overtaken him. Fearing for her family’s safety, Sarah must choose between her maternal instinct to love and protect Miles (played by IT’s Jackson Robert Scott) and a desperate need to investigate what—or who—is causing his dark turn. She is forced to look for answers in the past, taking the audience on a wild ride—one where the line between perception and reality becomes frighteningly blurry.
So, LA fans, mark your calendar for May 10th and come see The Prodigy. More exclusive DreadVision screening events coming soon, so stay tuned and check back often!
