Lin Shaye Seem a Bit Too Nice in Our Exclusive Clip from ROOM FOR RENT

Don’t get me wrong, everyone I know who’s met Lin Shaye in real life has nothing but wonderful things to say about her. Plus, we love her as psychic Elise Rainier in the Insidious franchise (among many other outstanding genre flicks). Her character Joyce in Room for Rent, however–we’re not too sure what to think about her.
In our exclusive clip from Room for Rent embedded at the top of the article, Joyce seems just a bit too nice to Bob, a man she just met played by Oliver Rayon. Our suspicions that Joyce may be a bit unstable are all but confirmed in the trailer below the synopsis.
Synopsis:
Lonely widow Joyce rents out a room to make easy money. She meets mysterious drifter Bob and takes him in as a long-term tenant. She becomes obsessed with her much younger guest, making him the object of her deepest romantic fantasies. When a friend’s betrayal derails Joyce’s fantasy world, she seizes control of her own destiny with a deadly mission to finally get what she deserves.
Room for Rent is directed by Tommy Stovall from a screenplay penned by Stuart Flack; the Uncork’d Entertainment release, also starring Valeska Miller, and Ryan Ochoa, opens May 3rd in select theaters followed by a May 7th digital release.
