First Details for Scream Factory’s SILENT HILL Collector’s Edition

The folks at Scream Factory, the horror distribution arm of Shout! Factory, are masters of rereleases, producing top-notch reissues of yesterday and today’s greatest genre offerings. Yesterday came news that they’ll be releasing a Collector’s Edition of Silent Hill this Summer; look for it online and in brick and mortar retailers begining July 9th!

While the special features are still being determined, here’s what’s been announced already:

• National street date for North America (Region A) is July 9th.

• Release will come with a slipcover (guaranteed for three months after its original release date).

• The newly-commissioned artwork pictured comes from Devon Whitehead (Trick r Treat, Valentine, Sleepwalkers). This art will be front-facing and the reverse side of the wrap will feature alternate theatrical artwork (woman walking towards the town’s sign in the fog).

• Extras will be confirmed on a later date but we can confirm today this will be a 2-disc set and fully-loaded with extras. We are working closely with Director Christopher Gans.

Pre-orders began yesterday and includes the Blu-ray plus a rolled 18” x 24” poster of the new art. Lock down your copy, HERE.

If it’s been a while, check out the synopsis and trailer for Silent Hill (released in 2006) below.

Synopsis:
Unable to accept the fact that her daughter is dying, Rose decides to take the girl to a faith healer. On the way, the pair drive through a portal in reality, leading to an eerie town called Silent Hill. The town is surrounded by a potent darkness, and the human survivors fight a losing battle against it.

Silent Hill is directed by Christophe Gans from a screenplay penned by Roger Avary; the film stars Radha Mitchell, Laurie Holden, and Sean Bean.
