Shudder’s Spring Slate Includes THE RANGER and THE BOAR

Over the past few years, we’ve watched Shudder go from a niche digital platform for dedicated horror aficionados to a major player in the industry and a must-have service for genre fans at every end of the spectrum. In addition to curating an incredible library of past and modern classics, Shudder is now a distributor of original content with a growing stable of their own powerhouse creepers.

Today, Shudder announced some highlights from their spring slate, and we’re in for some bloody good times. Here’s the gist from this morning’s press release:

After a record-smashing 2018 that featured Mandy, Revenge and Summer of ‘84, and a 2019 that has already included Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich and Horror Noire, Shudder, AMC network’s premium streaming service for horror, thriller and the supernatural, today announced its Spring lineup of acclaimed, bold and genre-bending Shudder Exclusive movies: Lizzie, starring Chloë Sevigny and Kristen Stewart, crooks vs. killers thriller Monster Party, SXSW and London FrightFest favorite The Ranger, Fantasia International Film Festival special prize winner The Night Shifter, and Australian rampaging creature comedy Boar.

Lizzie Banner - Shudder's Spring Slate Includes THE RANGER and THE BOAR

Synopsis:
Lizzie (Chloë Sevigny) is a social outcast, living a claustrophobic life that’s ready to boil over. In its dark, moody retelling of the notorious 1892 axe murder of the Borden family in Fall River, Massachusetts, Lizzie is a psychological thriller that reveals many layers of the strange and fragile Lizzie Borden. Available April 11th.

Monster Party - Shudder's Spring Slate Includes THE RANGER and THE BOAR

Synopsis:
Three small-time burglars pose as caterers for a fancy dinner party at an extravagant mansion. But their plan for the perfect heist goes horribly wrong when they discover that the family and their guests are actually a support group of recovering serial killers. Rowdy, bloody and surprising, Monster Party is a stylish, class clash. Available April 25th.

Synopsis:
A group of punk teens on the run from the police head to the woods, only to be terrorized by one park ranger’s brand of psychotic justice. Jenn Wexler’s bold debut is a colorful, howling slasher rejuvenation. Available May 9th.

Night SHifter - Shudder's Spring Slate Includes THE RANGER and THE BOAR

Synopsis:
In Dennison Ramalho’s scary, starkly original horror, Stênio works the graveyard shift at the morgue of a vast, violent city. He toils all night, but he’s never alone, for Stênio can talk to the dead. And they talk back. But when the whispers of the dead reveal secrets of his own life, Stênio unleashes a curse that brings forth danger and darkness. Available May 23rd.

Boar - Shudder's Spring Slate Includes THE RANGER and THE BOAR

Synopsis:
Out for blood, this lean mean creature feature finds a boar of monstrous size roaming the outskirts of an outback town, massacring several backpackers and locals. Bernie and his visiting relatives, the Monroe’s, swiftly come face to face with the feral beast—and uncover that some monsters are better left in stories. Available June 6th.
