Shaw Was Still Alive and a Major Player in First Draft of ALIEN: COVENANT

One of the biggest complaints Prometheus fans had about Ridley Scott’s Alien: Covenant was that Elizabeth Shaw (played by Noomi Rapace) was killed off before the movie even began. It was a surprise considering Prometheus set her up as a Ripley-esque character, someone we expected to be a common thread throughout the prequel series. All we saw of Shaw was a “Prologue” to Alien: Covenant that was released online, and wasn’t an actual part of the film.

Back when Alien: Covenant was still being called Prometheus 2 and/or Alien: Paradise, Shaw was still alive and, indeed, a crucial character in the story. The video at the top of the article from HN Entertainment cites concept artist Carlos Huante and claims the character was hiding out on the Engineers’ home planet, deep in the catacombs, and had been hiding from David (Michael Fassbender) for years before the Covenant arrived. Give it a spin.

If it’s been a while, check out the trailer and synopsis for Alien: Covenant below.

Synopsis:
Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, members (Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup) of the colony ship Covenant discover what they think to be an uncharted paradise. While there, they meet David (Michael Fassbender), the synthetic survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition. The mysterious world soon turns dark and dangerous when a hostile alien life-form forces the crew into a deadly fight for survival.

What do you think ofAlien fans? Would you have preferred it if Shaw was a bigger component in Alien: Covenant or do you think she was more of a one-movie kind of character? Let us know in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
