Chimera Strain is a horror/sci-fi arriving in select theaters and VOD platforms beginning this Friday, March 15th via Vertical Entertainment. Today, Dread Central is pleased to share the exclusive clip embedded at the top of the article.

We meet Quint (Lost‘s Henry Ian Cusick), a sort of futuristic Dr. Frankenstein harvesting organs from animals to use in ethically questionable experiments. We all know what usually happens when scientists in movie “play God”, don’t we? All the while, he’s pestered and disrupted by a pair of children, but are they real, ghosts, or the hallucinations of a man whose psyche is on the brink of breaking?

Check out the synopsis and trailer for Chimera Strain below.

Synopsis:
Imagine a world without aging, injury, disease or death. Quint’s obsession with this utopian dream pushes him to the edge of his sanity. Rather than risk losing his dying children, Quint decides to freeze them alive, thereby preserving them in a cryonic a-metabolic state. Meanwhile he feverishly researches genetic modifications that would give them the regenerative abilities of the “immortal” Turritopsis jellyfish. Quint’s experiments require human embryonic stem cells and this sets him on a collision course with Masterson, a shadowy figure, whose bizarre motives trigger a chain of events with far-reaching consequences.

Chimera Strain is written and directed by Maurice Haeems; in addition to Cusick, the film stars Erika Ervin, Kathleen Quinlan, and Jenna Harrison.
