Jordan Peele Nerds Out on Horror in Advance of US North American Premiere
The immense South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) officially kicks off this Friday, March 8th, and opening night attendees with horror inclinations have one event in mind: The North American premiere of Jordan Peele’s follow-up to Get Out, Us! In advance of the film’s release, Peele sat down with the folks at WSJ. Magazine for a “nerding out” session!
Ever wonder which horror movie first got Peele’s attention when he was growing up? Or what he personally finds frightening? Or his b-movie guilty pleasures? Or his favorite “final girl”? The answers to these questions and more can be found in the video embedded at the top of the article. You can peep the synopsis and trailer for Us below.
Synopsis:
Accompanied by her husband, son and
daughter, Adelaide Wilson returns to the beachfront home where she grew up as a
child. Haunted by a traumatic experience from the past, Adelaide grows
increasingly concerned that something bad is going to happen to her family. Her
worst fears soon become a reality when four masked strangers descend upon the
house, forcing the Wilsons into a fight for survival. When the masks come off,
each stranger takes the appearance of a different family member.
Us stars Lupita Nyong’o, Elisabeth Moss, and Anna Diop; those of us who aren’t attending SXSW can see the film on March 22nd when it hits theaters nationwide.
