Dee Wallace Rumored to Be Reprising her Role from CRITTERS 1986

UPDATE: We’re hearing rumors this Dee Wallace will actually be appearing in a new Critters feature film being produced for Syfy. Yes, this would be in addition to the Shudder series we already knew about. We’ll keep you posted as addition details emerge.
After a hiatus of over a quarter century, the infamous B-movie horror franchise Critters will come rolling back to life when the series, Critters: A New Binge arrives on Shudder in its entirety beginning March 21st. There’s a lot we don’t know about the reboot at this time. For example, there are only 11 cast members listed on the show’s IMDB page, only have of whom have character names as opposed to descriptions like “Desk Clerk” and “Little Girl”.
Our friends at MovieWeb, however, have been doing some sleuthing; they’ve put together enough circumstantial evidence to make a case for the theory that Dee Wallace is reprising her role from 1986’s Critters (Helen Brown) in A New Binge:
“There is a rumor – read that once more, a rumor – going around that beloved scream queen Dee Wallace (The Howling) has snagged a role in this new movie. And this casting makes more than a bit of sense considering she starred in the original film back in 1986. Her involvement has been rumored due to an interview she conducted where she says she just finished work on a secret project in South Africa… which is a bit of a stretch…Is Dee Wallace in the cast? Who knows at this point.”
Here’s what we do know: This new series is directed by Jordan Rubin, who wrote and executive produced alongside Jon Kaplan and Al Kaplan. Rupert Harvey and Barry Opper, producers of the original Critters, were also a part of the project.
