This Is Our Home follows young duo Cory and Reina (real-life pair Jeff Ayars, who also produced, and Simone Policano) on a short getaway, struggling to resuscitate their relationship after a loss. The unsettling arrival of a mysterious boy (Drew Beckas) at Reina’s childhood home throws a nightmarish wrench into their plans for an idyllic, romantic retreat. Ayars describes the independent film as “Blue Valentine wrapped in horror.”
For his first fright feature, Dorani drew inspiration from horrors Goodnight Mommy, It Comes At Night, The Eyes of My Mother and The Shining. Robert Harmon penned the original screenplay, while the LA-based composer Andy Marsh created the film’s haunting original score. Hardcore Henry’s Inga Vainshtein Smith executive produced the Thomas Taugher-lensed movie.
