Latest PET SEMATARY Poster Pays Homage to Another Classic STEPHEN KING Adaptation

Last week, we saw the second trailer for the upcoming Pet Sematary adaptation (bottom of the article), but the fun didn’t stop there; we also got a new theatrical poster (one that included a hidden Zelda) and an international trailer that’s nothing short of ghastly! Today, we’re seeing yet another new poster for Pet Sematary (directed by Kevin Kölsch, Dennis Widmyer), and it pays homage to one of the best-loved films ever based on a King property.

The silhouettes of children walking along at dusk is clearly reminiscent of the poster for Stand by Me (based on The Body), directed by Rob Reiner and released in 1986. Look at the two posters below for full impact.

Synopsis:
Louis Creed, his wife Rachel and their two children Gage and Ellie move to a rural home where they are welcomed and enlightened about the eerie ‘Pet Sematary’ located nearby. After the tragedy of their cat being killed by a truck, Louis resorts to burying it in the mysterious pet cemetery, which is definitely not as it seems, as it proves to the Creeds that sometimes, dead is better.

Pet Sematary stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, and John Lithgow. Look for it in US theaters beginning April 5th.
