Jennifer Tilly (& Tiffany) Weigh in on CHILD’S PLAY Remake After Trailer Release
As a lifelong fan of the Child’s Play franchise and a friend of Don Mancini, it’s been tough remaining neutral about MGM/Orion’s upcoming reboot. In a vacuum, I’m not opposed to reboots, but Mancini is currently working on a TV series that maintains the original franchise’s continuity, so the remake seems like unnecessary competition. I mean, why reboot when there’s still so much life left in the original?

Others share my sentiment and have expressed their opinions in various forums, but the debate was reinvigorated when the first trailer for MGM’s Child’s Play hit the internet last Friday. This time, series mainstay Jennifer Tilly (who plays Tiffany and herself in the original franchise) weighed into the fray—and she didn’t mince words.
Check out Tilly’s tweet below.
New “Chucky” movie? Ummm…no. Tiffany and I are gonna sit this one out.
She signed off with the hashtag #NotmyChucky.
As a journalist, I’m supposed to remain objective, so don’t take my opinions to heart; think for yourself! Check out the synopsis and trailer below.
Synopsis:
“A contemporary re-imagining of the 1988
horror classic, Child’s Play follows Karen, a single mother who gifts her son
Andy a Buddi doll, unaware of its more sinister nature.”
Directed by Lars Klevberg and written by Tyler Burton Smith, Child’s Play stars Aubrey Plaza, Brian Tyree Henry, and Gabriel Bateman. Look for it in US theaters beginning June 21st.
