When people ask me to describe Black Site, I tell them it’s 80% old-school John Carpenter (à la Escape From New York), 10% Lovecraft mythos, and 10% The Raid. Today, I get to add one more item to that list: it’s officially a Dread Central Presents title!
That’s right! The film that had its world premiere at 2018’s FrightFest is now part of the Dread Central Presents label and will be coming out April 9 on VOD and Blu-ray! This is a movie I’ve been very passionate about as I believe it really captures an old-school genre feel while injecting some exciting modern elements. Plus, the possibilities for where this world can go are pretty much endless!
Writer/director Tom Paton states, “I’m so proud to be releasing this movie with Dread Central Presents, who have quickly become one of my favourite distributors. It’s a real honour to see my film Black Site taking its place alongside some of the coolest films I’ve seen in the past few years. Dread Central has been an important site in my career, not just for the support they’ve shown me as a filmmaker, but also as a source of knowledge about all things genre related. Hopefully this is the start of a beautiful collaboration between us for Black Site and future movies I make!”
So join me as Dread Central Presents and Black Site team up to deport all gods!
“A young woman is forced to push past her worst fears and battle to deport an ancient entity back to where it came from.”
