YouTubers Recreate Trailer for US with Clips from THE PROUD FAMILY

The trailer for Jordan Peele’s sophomore feature film Us, released on Christmas Day, features a family stalked by evil doppelgänger versions of themselves. The folks over at Yeek noted some striking similarities to Disney’s The Proud Family Movie, an animated film that featured the titular Prouds facing off against evil clones that look exactly like them, but most certainly don’t behave the same.

In an exercise that proves just how interchangeable elements of these disparate films actually are, Yeek recreated the trailer for Us with clips from The Proud Family. Give it a spin at the top of the article and compare it to the actual trailer for Us below.

Synopsis:
Accompanied by her husband, son and daughter, Adelaide Wilson returns to the beachfront home where she grew up as a child. Haunted by a traumatic experience from the past, Adelaide grows increasingly concerned that something bad is going to happen to her family. Her worst fears soon become a reality when four masked strangers descend upon the house, forcing the Wilsons into a fight for survival. When the masks come off, each stranger takes the appearance of a different family member.

Us stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Lupita Nyong’o, and Elisabeth Moss; look for it in theaters beginning March 15th.
