Sandra Bullock Describes “Horrific Baby Face” Creature We Didn’t See in BIRD BOX

The much-hyped, apocalyptic creeper Bird Box arrived on Netflix today, and I can already hear the number one complaint most horror fans will have: “They didn’t show us the monster!” Sure, I understand that an entity that takes the form of a person’s worst fears can’t be portrayed in an effective way, but genre fans hate it when a movie monster turns out to be the wind (like in The Happening) or nothing at all (like in It Comes at Night).

It turns out there were plans to show the entity in Bird Box (directed by Susanne Bier), but there’s a good reason we didn’t see it in the movie. In a nutshell, it looked stupid! Here’s how star Sandra Bullock described the monster:

“It was a green manwith a horrific baby face. It was snake-like, and I was like, ‘I don’t want tosee it when it first happens. Just bring it into the room. We’ll shoot thescene.’ I turn and he’s like this [growling at me.] It’s making me laugh. Itwas just a long fat baby.”

I admit that it sounds rather absurd, but part of me really wants to have a look at this green snake man with a baby face!

If you haven’t seen Bird Box for yourself yet, check out the synopsis and trailer below.

Synopsis:
When a mysterious force decimates the population, only one thing is certain — if you see it, you die. The survivors must now avoid coming face to face with an entity that takes the form of their worst fears. Searching for hope and a new beginning, a woman and her children embark on a dangerous journey through the woods and down a river to find the one place that may offer sanctuary. To make it, they’ll have to cover their eyes from the evil that chases them — and complete the trip blindfolded.
