John Krasinski Teases A QUIET PLACE 2 Isn’t Quite a Sequel

aquietplacenewposter218 202x300 - John Krasinski Teases A QUIET PLACE 2 Isn’t Quite a SequelA Quiet Place was the first truly celebrated horror movie of 2018, making John Krasinski (best know as the actor who played Jim Halpert on The Office) an unlikely rising-star of the genre. For Paramount Pictures, greenlighting a sequel was a no-brainer and, since, Krasinski has been teasing fans with details of his sequel script-in-progress.

He recently sat down with the folks at Business Insider where we teased us even more, explaining how A Quiet Place 2 won’t feel like a typical sequel:

I don’t even see it as a sequel. Emily [Blunt] actually blew my mind by categorizing it the correct way after I pitched it to her. She said, ‘This isn’t a sequel at all — this is the second book in a series of books. It’s a widening of a world.’ And I thought that’s the best way to look at it. It doesn’t feel like a sequel — it’s a continuation of living in that world.

“I can’t wait to get in there and keep writing and see what this movie wants to allow itself to be. And that will happen in the script process and the shooting and the editing. But I think what’s cool about the second part of this movie is the same set of rules have to apply. I can’t just introduce a world where you can make a ton of sound, and if I did, there would have to be a reason for it. So, it’s figuring out if there are smart and clever ways to do it.”

While A Quiet Place 2 only has a shell of an IMDB page, devoid of cast or plot summary, there is a release date: May 15th, 2020. Sure, it’s a long way away, but we’ll be following the production all the way through! In the meantime, revisit this year’s A Quiet Place below with the film’s official synopsis and trailer.

In a post-apocalyptic world, a family is forced to live in silence while hiding from monsters with ultra-sensitive hearing.
