Is This Jud Crandall’s Wife in the New PET SEMATARY Remake?

It’s been a month since we saw the first trailer for 2019’s Pet Sematary (directed by Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer), but if you’re like me, you don’t just watch these things once—especially when a film looks as good and terrifying as this one! Mary Lambert’s 1989 adaptation will always remain one of the best supernatural shockers of the 1980s, though it’ll be interesting to see how this 21st Century re-imagining differentiates itself.

While Lambert’s Pet Sematary was true to Stephen King’s source material, it left out some key elements and characters, one of whom is Jud Crandall’s arthritic wife, Norma.

Well, on my 422nd viewing of the trailer for Pet Sematary 2019, I noticed something—just a flash. I zeroed in on a few frames around 1:37 mark and found a gray-haired woman sitting next to an ironing board; she’s rubbing her hands as though she’s in a great deal of pain like Norma was in Stephen King’s novel. And while Jud always spoke of his wife in the most complimentary of terms, there’s something sinister about this woman’s appearance… Re-watch the trailer for yourself at the bottom of the article and let us know what you think!

Synopsis:
Dr. Louis Creed and his wife, Rachel, relocate from Boston to rural Maine with their two young children. The couple soon discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near their new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his neighbor Jud Crandall, setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unspeakable evil with horrific consequences.

Pet Sematary stars Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz, and John Lithgow as Jud Crandall.

So, do you think that could be Jud’s wife Norma at the 1:37 mark in the trailer? More importantly, are you excited to see Pet Sematary when it haunts theaters on April 5th? Sound off in the comments below or on Facebook, Twitter, and/or Instagram!
